Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy & Therapeutic Immunology
Dr. Muna Barakat is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy with a strong academic and clinical background in clinical pharmacy, pharmacotherapy, and therapeutic immunology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with an excellent GPA and her Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy with first-class honors from the University of Jordan, where she began her academic career as a teaching assistant and later as a lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and Biopharmaceutics.
Dr. Barakat completed her PhD in Physiology and Therapeutic Immunology at Queen’s University Belfast (UK), focusing on immune cell stimulation using innovative technologies, particularly atmospheric non-thermal plasma for the treatment of chronic wound infections. Following her PhD, she joined Applied Sciences Private University, where she was promoted to Associate Professor and has received multiple Best Researcher Awards in recognition of her scientific contributions.
Her academic experience includes extensive teaching and clinical supervision in cardiology, pediatrics, respiratory medicine, critical care, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapy, alongside active clinical practice as a preceptor at the University of Jordan Hospital. Dr. Barakat is currently engaged in international research collaborations with Queen’s University Belfast and Applied Sciences Private University and has a strong interest in advancing clinical pharmacy practice in cardiology and its impact on the Jordanian healthcare system.
